Privacy Notice

1. Overview

ViniGeo is a cartographic study of the world's wine regions with a personal wine collection feature. This page explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and how you can have it deleted.

2. What data we collect and why

When you create an account, we store your email address and display name as provided by your OAuth sign-in provider (Google or Apple). We use this information solely to identify your account and to keep your data separate from other users'.

When you add wines to your collection, we store the details you enter: wine name, winery, region, vintage year, quantity, wine type, and optionally the geographic coordinates of the winery. We store this information to provide the collection-tracking service.

We do not collect any data beyond what is necessary to operate the service. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

3. How long we keep your data

We keep your account data and wine collection for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all wine entries and your identity record are permanently removed within 30 days of the deletion request.

4. Who we share your data with

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Your data is processed by the following sub-processors as necessary to run the service:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — stores your wine collection in DynamoDB and serves map tiles via Amazon Location Service. AWS processes data under its own privacy policy.
• Google / Apple — if you sign in with Google or Apple, those providers handle authentication and share your name and email address with us under their own terms.
• RevenueCat / Stripe — if you subscribe to ViniGeo Pro, payment processing is handled entirely by RevenueCat and Stripe. We do not store or access your payment card details.

5. Map and location services

When you interact with the map, your browser or device makes requests to AWS services (including Amazon Location Service) to load map tiles. Those requests may include standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type, handled under AWS's own terms and privacy policies.

6. Analytics and logs

We may collect minimal aggregate information — such as error logs and basic usage metrics — to understand how the service is used and to improve stability. These logs are not used to identify individual users.

7. Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from the app. Go to the Profile screen and tap Delete Account. After confirming the dialog, your entire wine collection is purged from our servers and your account identity is removed. This action cannot be undone.

All data will be fully erased within 30 days of your deletion request. If you have any questions or need assistance, contact the maintainer at the address below.

8. Data security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect data processed through the service. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and disclaim all liability for unauthorised access to or disclosure of your data to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

9. No warranties; limitation of liability

This privacy notice describes practices on a best-effort basis. ViniGeo makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the completeness or accuracy of this notice or the security of your data. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ViniGeo shall not be liable for any damages arising from a breach of data security, loss of data, or any other privacy-related incident, including indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

10. Changes to this notice

This privacy notice may be updated over time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated notice.
