Privacy Notice

Last updated: 3/3/2026

1. Overview

ViniGeo is a cartographic study of the world's wine regions. This project is primarily intended for exploration and educational use. This page describes, at a high level, what information may be processed when you use the site.

2. Map and location services

When you interact with the map, your browser makes requests to AWS services (including Amazon Location Service) to load map tiles and related resources. Those requests may include standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and similar metadata, handled under AWS's own terms and privacy policies.

For more information about how Amazon Web Services processes data, please refer to AWS's publicly available documentation and privacy notices.

3. Account and payment data

If you create an account, we collect the information you provide (such as an email address) solely to provide the service. Payment processing for ViniGeo Pro subscriptions is handled entirely by Stripe through RevenueCat. We do not store or have access to your full payment card details. Please review Stripe's and RevenueCat's privacy policies for details on how they handle payment data.

4. Local analytics and logs

This project may collect minimal, aggregate information (for example, basic usage metrics or error logs) to understand how the site is used and to improve stability. These logs are not intended to identify individual users.

5. Data security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect data processed through the service. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and disclaim all liability for unauthorised access to or disclosure of your data to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

6. No warranties; limitation of liability

This privacy notice describes practices on a best-effort basis. ViniGeo makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the completeness or accuracy of this notice or the security of your data. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ViniGeo shall not be liable for any damages arising from a breach of data security, loss of data, or any other privacy-related incident, including indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

7. Your choices

You can choose not to use the site if you do not agree with this notice. You may also configure your browser or device privacy settings (for example, disabling certain storage or trackers) to limit what information is shared.

8. Changes to this notice

This privacy notice may be updated over time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted will constitute your acceptance of the updated notice.

If you have questions about this notice, please contact the maintainer of this project.
